Jakov sat, his pen still writing against his draft paper. He had a bad feeling in his gut today. The war was spiraling. He didn't want war with Macedonia, but here he was. He felt bad for his people and sighed. Suddenly a knock was at his door as Miodrag Dedic swung it open without warning. He panted and was worried as he looked at Jakov then spoke.
"The Germans! They embargoed us! And-"
Jakov dropped his pen and stood up. You could tell he was furious, but he remained calm. "Details, comrade, details."
Miodrag sighed as he wiped his brow and spoke. "They embargoed the straits. No ships are allowed, and the Germans will sink anything. I order the navy to port."
Jakov nodded and thought to himself. He wasn't dumb; there was more. "The UN did the Germans inform them yet."
Miodrag nodded. "They have, but we have 48 hours to respond."
Jakov deeply sighed and turned to the window, and then leaned against its railing. "At this rate, we will lose. I'm not willing to lose Montenegro. Macedonia is different. They can wait- for now."
Miodrag straightens up with a confused and worried look. "Sir… Nikola's plan?"
Jakov quickly stomped against the wood floor. "Nikola is fucking dead in all terms!"
Miodrag and sighed, he wanted to walk out, but he remained calm and wanted to settle this. "So what do we do, Jakov?"
Jakov walked to the table and set his reading glasses down as he grabbed a jacket from the coat rack. He was calm; an idea ran through his head as he looked up again to Miodrag. "We do diplomacy. Montenegro has some incriminating evidence in its North- Bosnian land."
Jakov stood right in front of Miodrag and talked more. "We will try to convince the UN that our war is justified. However, we will also engage with diplomacy in Macedonia. Our current agreement is a ceasefire."
Miodrag nodded, then froze as he realized the Germans wouldn't agree to this. "What about Adria? They won't agree."
Jakov nodded and spoke. "Unless we give them something they want. A bargaining chip. I will take diplomacy anytime then to see my people suffer."
Miodrag nodded and backed up, "I will inform the assembly, then tell them to dispatch diplomats to the UN with evidence."
Jakov nodded and guided Miodrag out of his room as they discussed plans further, hurried and shushed. Jakov opened the front door and let Miodrag out. He sighed as he grabbed his phone from his pocket and hesitantly rang a number.
